Can I get other help with fuel as a pensioner?
Pensioners who get Pension Credit can get £150 off their winter fuel bill through the Warm Home Discount scheme. If you’re eligible, your electricity supplier will apply the discount to your bill.
The Warm Home Discount scheme is now closed and will reopen in October 2024.

In 2023 and 2024, councils have Household Support Funds to help households who are struggling. Contact your council to see if they can help.
In 2023 and 2024, the government helped pensioners by giving them extra lump sum payments through the Cost of Living Payment scheme. The government has not announced any Cost of Living Payments for 2024 and 2025.
