How do I apply to the Discretionary Assistance Fund Wales?

It can be helpful to have support from your local authority or another organisation such as a housing association to make a claim to the Discretionary Assistance Fund.

You can find your local authority's contact details using the GOV.Wales website.

If you decide to apply directly to the Discretionary Assistance Fund, you can use the Discretionary Assistance Fund form on the GOV.Wales website.

You can also apply over the phone by calling 0800 859 5924, Monday to Friday from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.

You cannot apply for a grant if you have already received a grant in the last 7 days or received 3 grants in the last year.

An Emergency Assistance Payment (AEP) application is usually processed within 24 hours, while an Individual Assistance Payment (IAP) application takes around 10 working days.
