After You Apply

Once you submit your application for a Budgeting Loan, how long you wait for a decision depends on how you applied.

If you applied online, you should get a decision within 7 days if you asked to be notified by text or email. If you applied online and asked to be notified by letter it will take 21 days.

If you applied by paper application, you will be notified of the decision within 21 days.

Accepting the loan

You need to accept the decision to receive your money.

If you applied online, you can accept the loan offer by following the instructions in the text or email.

If you applied by post, you need to sign page 4 of the acceptance letter and return it in the pre-paid envelope provided. To avoid delays, you should send it to the address on the letter and not to your local Jobcentre Plus.

Receiving your money

If you accept your decision online, you’ll receive your money within 7 days.

If you accept your decision by post, it will take up to 21 days after your acceptance is received.

If you apply online, the money will be sent to the same bank or building society account where you get your benefits. If you apply by post, the money will go into the account you wrote on the application form.
