I get the enhanced rate daily living component of ADP, what else can I get?
If you or your partner gets the enhanced rate of the daily living component of Adult Disability Payment (ADP), you could get the extra benefits and other help listed below.
Enhanced Disability Premium
Premiums are extra amounts included in some benefits if you fit the criteria. The Enhanced Disability Premium is an extra £20.85 per week if you or your partner qualify and £29.75 per week if you both qualify.
If you or your partner is getting the enhanced rate of the daily living component of ADP, you can get an enhanced disability premium included in your Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Housing Benefit.
If you are getting contributory Employment and Support Allowance, you may also get a top-up of income-based income-related Employment and Support Allowance if you qualify for a premium. This will not apply if you get New Style Employment and Support Allowance.
If you are already getting full Housing Benefit, you will not get any more even if you qualify for a premium.
The Enhanced Disability Premium is not paid with Universal Credit.
Working Tax Credit Severe Disability Element
If you or your partner gets the enhanced rate of the daily living component of ADP, you can get an extra amount included in your Working Tax Credit worth up to £1,705 per year.
Bus Travel
If you get the daily component of ADP at any rate, you can apply for a disabled person's bus card. The card allows you to travel by bus for free within Scotland. If you qualify, a companion can also travel with you for free.
