In the wake of last week's devastating events - from the violence in Southport to widespread unrest across the UK - our thoughts are with the communities profoundly impacted.

Homes, businesses, and community spaces have not only been physically damaged, but the social fabric of these areas has been torn, leaving deep emotional scars. Families are grappling with loss and grief, forever altering their lives and deepening existing struggles.

Turn2us stands united with those facing the brunt of this turmoil, particularly British Muslims, refugees, and others from minoritised backgrounds who are disproportionately affected by financial insecurity and systemic barriers to support.

Conversations with the communities we support reveal that these targeted attacks by far-right extremists have deepened existing challenges. Families now live in fear, reluctant to leave their homes, suffering from a loss of confidence and increased isolation.

Sarah McLoughlin, Director of Programmes & Partnerships, asserts, "Turn2us will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with communities rebuilding following these recent attacks. We are committed to supporting people by providing accessible information, grants and programmes that enhance their financial security, helping to build resilient communities."

We believe that rebuilding goes beyond physical reconstruction- it's about restoring trust, dignity, and hope. Together, we must continue to work to ensure that everyone can live in safety and thrive, free from fear and oppression.
