It is shameful that child poverty reached a record high in our country last year, with over 4.3 million children now affected.

No child should go hungry or miss out on educational experiences due to financial hardship. While the government has pledged to reduce child poverty, today's analysis from Child Poverty Action Group shows it is set to rise even further under this government’s watch.

Urgent action is clearly needed, yet ministers are cutting critical support from sick and disabled people and their families. We urge the government to take bold action in the Child Poverty Strategy, reversing these harmful cuts and ensuring our social security system genuinely protects children’s life chances.
