Swim Serpentine 2016
Saturday 24 September sees the inaugural Swim Serpentine event in London’s Hyde Park. Organised by the team behind the London Marathon and the Pru 100, it is hoped that it will become an annual event attracting over 6,000 swimmers.
Turn2us are proud to have four swimmers raising funds and awareness this Saturday, including our own Head of Helpline Services, Kirsten McKenzie, and Fundraising Development Officer, Micky Forster. Long time Turn2us supporters Tim Curry and Nicola Whittock round off the team.
Micky said “I’m really looking forward to swimming the Serpentine! Both Kirsten and myself have been training hard over the last few months and I can’t wait to get in the water. My only hope is that the weather holds and it’s not freezing cold!
"We want to thank everyone who’s sponsored us so far; we’re almost at our target of £1,500. Also, if anyone wants to come and show their support on the day, we’ll have up cheering point set up just north of the event – hopefully see you there!”
There’s still time to sponsor Kirsten and Micky and help us fight UK poverty:
